The easiest nutrition change I give people is not a new diet. It is protein at breakfast and lunch.

A lot of busy adults eat a light breakfast, a random lunch, and then try to repair the day at dinner. By then you are hungry and tired, and dinner has to do too much. That is when the "I will start Monday" plan shows up.

Put protein in the first two meals. Eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a shake, leftover chicken, turkey, tofu, beans if that is what you eat. I do not care which. I care that it is there, and that you can buy it again next week without a special store.

Then we can talk about the rest of the plate. Vegetables, a starch you like, enough food that you are not white-knuckling the afternoon. You do not have to cut everything you enjoy before you have done this one thing.

A few ways this goes wrong:

People pick a protein they do not like and then blame willpower. If you hate cottage cheese, do not build breakfast around cottage cheese.

People skip breakfast and call a coffee a plan. Coffee is fine. It is not the meal.

People add protein on top of everything else and then wonder why the scale did not move. This is a starting point, not a promise. If fat loss is the goal, the rest of the day still has to fit. We look at that once breakfast and lunch are steady, not before.

If you want the meals written out, that is part of Essentials. Our coaching system builds a custom workout program and meal plan for you, based on what's worked for our clients. Tell me what you like, how long you have to cook, and what the grocery budget looks like, so the plan is food you will actually make. The workouts fit the days you can train. First month is free with the code on the Essentials page, then $100 a month.

This is coaching, not medical nutrition. If you have a condition that needs a registered dietitian or your doctor, start there. If you are pregnant, recently postpartum, or dealing with an injury under treatment, tell me before you sign up. Essentials can work around a lot. Sometimes Foundations, where I am on calls, is the better fit. The quiz asks.

Start with breakfast tomorrow. One meal. Then lunch. We can build the rest after those two are boring and reliable.

If you want the gram question without a spreadsheet, that note is how much protein. Dinner after the kids are down is covered in eating late.
